The PickGeeks mobile app (iOS and Android) uses on-device storage mechanisms that are functionally similar to cookies:

- Used For: Authentication tokens (managed by Clerk)
- Persistence: Until logout or app uninstall
AsyncStorage
- Description: Key-value storage on the device

- Persistence: Until app data is cleared or app is uninstalled
Push Notification Tokens
- Description: Device-specific token for delivering push notifications
- Used For: Sending pick alerts and game updates (if opted in)
- Persistence: Managed by the operating system; revoked when notifications are disabled
These are not "cookies" in the traditional sense but serve similar purposes. They can be cleared by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

- Third-Party Cookies: Set by external services we integrate with (Clerk, RevenueCat and its payment processor, etc.)

We use Google Tag Manager with Google Consent Mode v2 to manage tags on our website. Tags inside the Google Tag Manager container that fall into the analytics category (for example, Google Analytics, if configured) require analytics_storage consent. We default this consent signal to denied and only set it to granted when you affirmatively accept non-essential cookies via our cookie banner.

2.4 Advertising and Targeting Cookies
Tags inside the Google Tag Manager container that fall into the advertising or personalization categories require ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, or personalization_storage consent. We default each of these consent signals to denied and only set them to granted when you affirmatively accept non-essential cookies via our cookie banner. We do not display third-party advertisements on the Service at this time.

3.3 Cloudflare

3.4 Google Tag Manager (Google Consent Mode v2)
- Provider: Google LLC (United States)
- Purpose: First- and third-party tag management on the website. Google Tag Manager itself is a container; any tags it loads (for example, analytics or conversion tags) are gated behind Google Consent Mode v2 and will not set cookies or transmit identifiers unless you grant consent via our cookie banner.
- Data Collected: With consent, page URL, referrer, event metadata, and a client identifier. Without consent, no measurement cookies are written and only cookieless, aggregated "consent-denied" pings may occur (per Google Consent Mode v2).

4. Your Cookie Choices
4.1 Cookie Consent Banner
When you first visit the Service, you will see a cookie consent banner. Strictly necessary and functional cookies are always active because they are required to operate the Service. Non-essential cookies (analytics, advertising, and personalization) loaded through Google Tag Manager are denied by default via Google Consent Mode v2 and will only be set after you select "Accept All" (or the equivalent) in the banner. You can change your choice at any time as described in Section 4.2.
4.2 Changing Your Preferences
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time:

4.4 Mobile App Data
To clear locally stored data on the mobile app:

Clearing app data will log you out and reset all local preferences.
Important: Blocking all cookies (including essential cookies) on the web may prevent the Service from functioning correctly. We recommend using our consent controls rather than blocking all cookies.
4.5 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We do not sell personal information and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Our default cookie configuration, using Google Consent Mode v2, already denies ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, analytics_storage, and personalization_storage until you affirmatively grant consent - which is the same outcome a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal is intended to achieve. As a result, GPC signals have no practical effect on the cookie behavior of the Service today. If we add processing activities that would otherwise trigger an opt-out right under applicable law, we will honor GPC signals server-side and update this policy.

We maintain a record of your cookie consent choices for compliance and audit purposes:

8.2 UK GDPR Compliance
If you are located in the United Kingdom, the same protections apply as for EEA users under the UK GDPR and PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations).
